Combined Autism & ADHD Assessment

A supportive, individualised pathway to clarity

Our Approach

Some children present with a combination of learning, attention, social, and emotional differences that don’t fit neatly within a single assessment pathway. In these situations, we take a combined and integrated approach to assessment, carefully considering how different areas of development interact rather than viewing them in isolation. Many families come to us feeling unsure about what is contributing to their child’s difficulties, whether it may be attention, learning, social communication, or a combination, and this approach is designed to gently and thoughtfully explore these questions.

A combined assessment is not about completing more tests, but about selecting the most appropriate combination of tools to build a clear and meaningful understanding of your child. This may include exploring cognitive functioning, academic skills, attention and executive functioning, social communication, and adaptive skills, alongside a careful review of your child’s history and experiences across home and school. We also place strong importance on integrating information from multiple sources, including parents, teachers, and any previous reports, to ensure the assessment reflects your child’s day-to-day functioning.

By taking an integrated approach, we are able to develop a more cohesive understanding of your child’s strengths and challenges, and how these may be connected. This helps to avoid duplication across separate assessments and ensures that recommendations are consistent, practical, and tailored to your child’s needs. For many families, this approach brings greater clarity and confidence, making it easier to understand what is going on and how best to support their child moving forward.
