Meet Charlotte McMaster, Child & Adolescent Psychologist.
Hello, I’m Charlotte, a psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and their families to better understand learning, behaviour, and development. I hold a Master of Educational Psychology degree from the University of Melbourne and have years of experience providing comprehensive psychological assessments for children and adolescents. Many of the young people I meet are thoughtful, capable, and trying their best, yet are finding aspects of school, attention, emotions, or social relationships overwhelming. My role is to help make sense of these experiences with care, clarity, and compassion.
My approach is warm, strengths-based, and person-centred. I take time to build rapport and ensure children and adolescents understand what is happening and why.

I have experience working with children and adolescents across a range of settings and specialise in psychological assessment, including cognitive, educational, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism, and developmental assessments. I regularly work with young people who present with complex and overlapping needs, including learning differences, executive-functioning challenges, anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, and neurodivergent profiles.

Assessments are paced thoughtfully, with flexibility and breaks as needed, and many children and adolescents tell me the process feels more like engaging activities and conversations than a test. I am particularly mindful of clients who are anxious, perfectionistic, highly sensitive, or who may mask their difficulties.
I place a strong emphasis on collaboration and work closely with families, schools, and other professionals to build a holistic picture of each young person across settings. Reports are written to be clear, practical, and genuinely useful, supporting families to advocate with confidence and helping schools understand how best to support each young person’s learning and wellbeing.
At the heart of my work is a belief that children and adolescents do best when they are understood. My aim is for families to leave the assessment process feeling validated, informed, and supported, with a clearer path forward for their child.
